LANSING - State officials are warning dog owners, especially those who breed dogs, to be aware that their animals could have brucellosis. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has investigated three cases of canine brucellosis in the past four months.

Pertussis cases confirmed in Kalamazoo County, flu in Michigan

KALAMAZOO, MI -- While folks are out getting flu shots, they may want to get a pertussis booster as well. Pertussis-- whooping cough-- is not a disease of the past, health officials remind. There have been five lab confirmed pertussis cases in Kalamazoo County residents in October, said Lynne Norman, RN, Clinical Services Division manager for Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services.
