Amtrak to add trains for holiday season

Amtrak will add trains on its busiest Chicago-bound Michigan route in time for the holidays. The extra trains will run on the Pontiac-to-Chicago Wolverine line, which includes a stop in Detroit and connects with the local Blue Water Line in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Going to Grandma's for Christmas dinner and planning to take the family pet along for the ride? Even if you're just driving to Indiana for dinner, state law requires that the dog have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, issued within the previous 30 days, said Janet Berish, animal health specialist with the Indiana Board of Animal Health.

LANSING - Amtrak will add more trains between Chicago and Michigan for the busy Thanksgiving weekend. The passenger train service will have nine extra round trips between Michigan and Chicago from Wednesday, Nov. 27 to Monday, Dec. 2.
