Benton Harbor-based Cornerstone Alliance will hire a veteran economic development executive to run the organization as it seeks candidates to permanently fill the position. The Berrien County organization said yesterday that it had contracted with James Hettinger, owner of JH Urban Development Services LLC and former 30-year CEO of Battle Creek Unlimited, to provide market outreach and advise Cornerstone’s staff and board until the alliance recruits a new president, according to a statement.
