KALAMAZOO, MI -- A search firm will recommend to the Kalamazoo City Commission Tuesday morning that the city advertise a $150,000 salary in its search for the next city manager. City commissioners will meet at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in city commission chambers at Kalamazoo City Hall to act on the recommendation.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Kalamazoo City Commission on Monday extended by 90 days a moratorium on digital billboards. Kalamazoo City Planner Andrea Augustine asked city commissioners to consider the extension to allow a stakeholder committee studying Kalamazoo's sign ordinance more time to suggest changes.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Kalamazoo Vice Mayor Hannah McKinney, who has served on the Kalamazoo City Commission for 16 years, announced Monday she will not seek re-election on Nov. 5. McKinney, a Kalamazoo College economics and business professor, was first elected to the commission in 1997.

Illinois firm chosen to assist with Kalamazoo city manager search

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Kalamazoo City Commission chose Voorhees Associates LLC of Deerfield, Ill., to lead the search for the next Kalamazoo city manager at a special meeting Thursday. Commissioners voted unanimously to move forward with Voorhees as the new head-hunting firm after firing Bob Murray & Associates of Roseville, Calif., in May and reopening the search.
