Kalamazoo City Manager names two deputies

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Kalamazoo City Manager Jim Ritsema has named two deputy city managers to round out his office. Ritsema announced Thursday that Jeff Chamberlain and Patsy Moore will be his deputy city managers. Chamberlain, currently director of the city's Department of Community Planning and Development, will be promoted to deputy city manager in charge of strategic planning and administration.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Kalamazoo's newest city manager, Jim Ritsema, was sworn in Monday evening alongside the 50th Kalamazoo City Commission. Ritsema officially starts in the city manager's office Monday, replacing Kenneth Collard, who retired as one of more than 200 city employees who accepted an early-retirement offer proposed by his administration.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Kalamazoo City Commission on Monday approved a contract for incoming city manager Jim Ritsema, who is set to start on Nov. 11. Under the contract, Ritsema's base salary will be $137,000, and will stay at that level until the 2016 budget is prepared.
