KALAMAZOO, MI -- The executive director of the Edison Neighborhood Association was arraigned Tuesday in Kalamazoo County District Court on a misdemeanor charge of selling alcohol without a license. Tammy Taylor, who has served as the neighborhood's executive director since 2001, was arraigned by Judge Tiffany Ankley on a single count of disorderly person — sale of alcohol without a license at a neighborhood association event on Feb. 15, according to court documents. The charge is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. (Kalamazoo Gazette)

The Kalamazoo City Commission could decide as early as its next meeting whether to make part of the Edison neighborhood into a “design review district.”

This weekend’s Art Hop in Kalamazoo will include displays outside of the central downtown area. It will include the Washington Square area in Kalamazoo’s Edison neighborhood. 

Community Promise Credit Union website

A new credit union is opening in Kalamazoo. The Community Promise Federal Credit Union will be holding an open house Tuesday at the Edison Neighborhood Association. Community Promise is a community development credit union, which will provide financial services and education to low-income people. It’s opening in the Edison Neighborhood, where currently there are no financial service institutions.
