Controversial adoption legislation on its way to Governor Rick Snyder would allow faith-based adoption agencies that take public money to refuse to work with same-sex couples. That’s even if the US Supreme Court legalizes same-sex marriage. 

"Lansing - The state Senate gave final approval Wednesday to legislation allowing faith-based foster care and adoption agencies to invoke "sincerely held religious beliefs" to turn away gay and lesbian couples wanting to adopt children." (The Detroit News)

(Lansing-MPRN) A group of 20- and 30-something conservative activists is in Michigan to meet with state Republican leaders. The goal of Young Conservatives for Freedom to Marry wants the party to adopt a change in its platform at the Republican National Convention in the summer of 2016. It wants the GOP to drop its opposition to same-sex marriage.
