From Wagner to 'Les Mis:' Rick Phelps previews Kalamazoo Singers concert

Bayreuth to Broadway is the title of the May 5 concert by the Kalamazoo Singers.

Coming off the heels of an ambitious program in March featuring two major sacred works for choir and orchestra, Kalamazoo Singers conductor Rick Phelps looks ahead to a completely different program and fondly remembers the last one.

Suren Bagratuni looks forward to friends playing together

Fontana Chamber Arts presents cellist Suren Bagratuni, violinist Dmitri Berlinsky, and pianist Lori Sims in an all-French recital tonight at 7:30 pm. Cara Lieurance spoke with Dr. Bagratuni, who says it takes extra effort to maintain performance skills while teaching full-time at a major university.
