MATTAWAN, MI -- Robin Buchler, assistant superintendent for Mattawan Consolidated School , was offered the job as the district's next superintendent after a two-and-a-half hour board meeting Thursday. MATTAWAN, MI -- The Mattawan Consolidated School Board of Education is taking a hard look at promoting Assistant Superintendent Robin Buchler to replace Superintendent Patrick Bird when he retires at the end of December. At this point, the board has decided to interview Buchler for the job and make a decision on her candidacy before recruiting external candidates, said Gary Rider of Michigan Leadership Institute and the board's search consultant.
