(MPRN-Lansing) The focus is on the November elections with the Republican and Democratic summer nominating conventions wrapped up. 

"GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Seventeen months before the end of his term, state Rep. Brandon Dillon, D-Grand Rapids, will resign. The term-limited lawmaker who has been elected through 2016 will step down Aug. 3 as he takes on a new role as Michigan Democratic Party chairman. Dillon was chosen for that job over the weekend. "Leaders in Michigan's Democratic Party will gather in Port Huron on Saturday to elect a new chairman, replacing Lon Johnson, who is stepping down after two years at the helm to run for Republican Rep.
