Michigan License Plate Changed After Complaints From Police

LANSING, MI - A license plate once voted the world's best was quietly replaced last month after law enforcement officers complained they weren't the world's most visible. Michael Yott, Jr. is a law enforcement officer with St. Clair Shores Police. He started an online petition to replace the plates, which got more than 700 signatures.

State Senate approves bill requiring new license plate every 10 years

LANSING - Drivers will have to get a new license plate for their cars at least every 10 years under a bill that passed the state Senate on Thursday. Now, drivers don't have to get new plates until they become too battered to read.
