(MPRN-Lansing) A storm that hammered the entire state with hurricane-force winds has left behind an unprecedented number of downed poles and power lines. And that poses a new danger for people still without power with the onset of freezing temperatures. 


High winds have left thousands of homes without power in Southwest Michigan. 

"CASSOPOLIS, MI – Freezing rain and heavy winds have knocked out power to more than 1,000 Midwest Energy Cooperative customers in Cass and St. Joseph counties, company officials said Monday." (Kalamazoo Gazette)


High winds have caused many power outages in Southwest Michigan Thursday morning. 

"KALAMAZOO, MI-- Consumers Energy's outage map is showing several power outages scattered across Southwest Michigan Thursday morning, a situation the company warned might occur as wind gusts of up to 60 mph are forecast through Friday morning." (Kalamazoo Gazette)
