KALAMAZOO, MI -- A fast-moving storm ripped through Kalamazoo about 5:45 p.m. Friday, knocking down trees and power lines. At 6:30 p.m., Consumers Energy was reporting more than 5,000 customers had lost service in the Kalamazoo area. The Paw Paw Wine & Harvest Festival was shut down for storm cleanup, according to a Kalamazoo Gazette photographer at the scene.

KALAMAZOO, MI - More than 5,500 Consumers Energy and Indiana Michigan Power customers in Southwest Michigan are without electricity following Tuesday afternoon's storm. Consumers Energy estimates most of its customers will have power restored by about 10 p.m. Indiana Michigan Power did not offer an immediate restoration assessment.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- More than 4,000 Consumers Energy customers in Kalamazoo and Portage are without power Monday morning according to the Consumer's Energy outage map. The utility reports 3.7 percent of its Kalamazoo County customers are affected. Traffic lights were out on South Westnedge Avenue in the area of Kilgore Road, drivers report.
