Administrators looking for grant money, money from other parts of budget

Across the board budget cuts known as "sequestration" are taking effect on Friday. West Michigan Congressman says no one wanted the sequestration to take effect. But he says lawmakers have to work on long-term deficit reduction. 

Cut would be small percentage of overall school spending, but would programs like special education and Head Start.

Obama administration says automatic cuts in federal spending will also mean fewer vaccinations for children, less for meals for seniors.
