Kalamazoo officials say travel only when necessary

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Kalamazoo city officials are urging residents to use caution when traveling and to travel only if necessary during Monday's weather conditions. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley asked residents in a news release to keep sidewalks clear and to remove snow from around fire hydrants.

Power coming back - gradually

Thousands still waiting for service to be restored
The number of people still dealing with power outages from Sunday's storms is steadily dwindling, and they're happy about that in the Creek Valley Mobile Home Park.There, owner Jeff Mead said the power finally came back on there sometime after 1 a.m. Wednesday. That meant residents had gone almost three full days without running water.
