Some Consumers Energy customers may not get power back until Saturday

KALAMAZOO, MI - Consumers Energy has been able to restore power to some in Southwest Michigan, but more than 47,000 in the region are still without electricity one day after a powerful storm swept through the region. Power may not be restored for most until Friday and some harder-hit regions could have to wait until Saturday, Consumers Energy said in a press release.

KALAMAZOO, MI The number of people in Southwest Michigan without power continued to climb Monday, one day after a storm swept through the region with wind gusts of up to 60 mph. It may be until late Friday until power is restored for most, Consumers Energy said in a press release, and it could take as long as Saturday for those in harder-hit areas.

Albion College closed until Monday by severe storm

ALBION - A powerful thunderstorm roared through Albion on Wednesday afternoon, knocking down trees and power lines and causing chaos for city residents and the Albion College community. More than 2,660 Consumers Energy customers were without power late Wednesday night after the storm blew through the area.
