(MPRN-Lansing) The Legislature returns to the state Capitol Tuesday. This will be the first time lawmakers will convene since the collapse last week of an effort to overhaul the state’s auto no-fault insurance law.

(MPRN-Lansing) Michigan schools aren’t quite on board with legislation to teach more skilled trades and technical education in schools. But with a few changes, they might get there soon.

(MPRN-Warren) President Obama was in Michigan on Wednesday to roll out new initiatives meant to boost job training and community college enrollment. 

"President Barack Obama will visit Macomb Community College in Warren Wednesday to speak about the importance of skills in getting jobs. Obama has made community college a major part of his education agenda. And Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has made the promotion of a skilled workforce a major part of his second-term policy priorities. Governor Rick Snyder (R) tells a business conference on Mackinac Island that training and getting people interested in skilled trades is his top economic development priority. Thousands of employers – including some of the state’s largest – attend the annual Detroit Regional Chamber event.
