(MPRN-Lansing) People who attack sports referees would face tougher penalties under legislation in the state Senate. Under the bills, a person would face up to three years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000 for attacking a referee. 

TOLEDO - Scoring two goals in the opening period, the Kalamazoo Wings jumped ahead and never looked back in a 4-2 victory over the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center. Taking advantage of their first power-play of the night, Sam Ftorek (3 rd) gave the K-Wings 2:21 into the first period with a slap shot from the left circle.

In a game that featured 12 lead changes and the scored tied eight times, Toledo made a late run to put away Western Michigan Wednesday night at Savage Arena, 67-57. The loss was the Broncos' third straight and the team will look to regroup as it fights for positioning in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament over the remaining three games of the regular season.

The Broncos improved to 17-11 overall and 8-7 in the Mid-American Conference with the win over the Cardinals
