Segal says women "losing ground" because of lack of female lawmakers

Rep. Kate Segal said it's hard to ignore the lack of women in the state Legislature, especially in the past two years. "When you go to a committee meeting and you're one of two women with a committee of over 20 people," she said, "you do take notice of that."

Michigan Senate passes Medicaid expansion

The State Senate narrowly approved expansion of Medicaid coverage Tuesday. The Gongwer News Service says the final vote of 20-to-18 followed a one-vote rejection of the plan earlier in the day.
