What's new at WMUK

WMUK is pleased to offer "The Bioneers: Revolution from the Heart of Nature" as a part of our new Morning Edition line-up.  This award-winning series of half-hour shows features the “bioneers” – social and scientific innovators with breakthrough solutions for people and planet. Cutting edge – charismatic – provocative – hopeful. These are the ardent voices of our most brilliant visionaries with both feet on the ground. They span the rich arc of human endeavor and practical transformation toward a future environment of hope.

The co-host of Grassroots and former host of Arts & More, Lorraine Caron, is retiring this year. Lorraine has worked in radio for 37 years and has been here at WMUK for 22 years.

Due to an interference problem we are currently not able to deliver the WMUK-2 signal to HD radios.  The programming on WMUK-2 continues to be available on this website (just click on the "Listen" button on the top of the Home page).

For quite a while now WMUK has offered listeners news and entertainment on Saturday mornings.  Soon, we will also be adding a touch of inspiration with the addition of the TED Radio Hour to WMUK-1.

Public radio listeners across the nation have embraced this new production from NPR that pulls together interesting and inspiring stories from TED events across the nation.  Guy Raz is the host.  We have been offering the show on WMUK-2 for the past few months where it has also been well received.

We are all familiar with the concept of “prime time” in the television world.  For decades the “prime” listening time for radio stations is when people are in their cars going to or coming home from work.  Over the years, “drive time” has come to be defined as 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and this is, logically, where stations will put their strongest programs.
