No Contact Order Lifted for Two Allegan County Waterways

ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI -- County health officials have lifted a no-contact advisory for Bear Creek and parts of the Rabbit River after a February liquid manure spill from a farm. The advisory was issued Feb. 17 because of risk for high bacteria levels following the discovery of a stormwater system failure at the Schaendorf dairy farm in Monterey Township.

Michigan Congressional Democrats Want Federal Government to Recognize Same-Sex Marriages

Michigan Legislature Calls for Federal Balanced Budget Amendment

LANSING, MI -- Michigan has joined more than 20 other states with active applications urging Congress to call a convention for the purposes of drafting a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Michigan Senate on Wednesday signed off on the final draft of Joint Resolution V, approving House modifications in a 25-12 party-line vote.
