Van Buren County to receive grant for government efficiency

PAW PAW, MI -- Van Buren County will receive a state grant that will make it easier to share technology services and tax assessment information, according to a news release from State Rep. Aric Nesbitt. The Michigan Department of Treasury is giving the county $314,629 from the Competitive Grant Assistance Program, one of 17 state grants from the program totaling $6 million, Nesbitt said.

KALAMAZOO, MI - Clifton Moshoginis is no longer director of the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport following today's special meeting of the aeronautics board. Following a closed session, the board voted to accept Moshoginis' voluntary resignation. It also voted to appoint David Reid as interim director of the airport.

Policies on Michigan's health insurance exchange could cost less than other states

An estimated 1.4-million uninsured or under insured state residents can buy policies on the exchange through the end of March
Michiganders shopping for insurance on the Michigan Health Insurance Marketplace beginning next Tuesday will spend less than much of the country, a possible result of competition drawn to the state exchange. In Michigan, the lowest prices for three categories of policies, called bronze, silver and gold, all came in lower than the national average, according to a federal analysis released today.

Kalamazoo Airport Board to meet Wednesday on director's future

KALAMAZOO, MI - After agreeing last week to begin discussing separation with its embattled director Cliff Moshoginis, the Kalamazoo County aeronautics board is expected to finalize the separation at a special meeting today. Moshoginis' employment status has been in question since it was reported earlier this month that an airport employee had filed a harassment complaint against him.
