Weekend sports roundup: WMU claims men's tennis title

Western Michigan University has won its second straight Mid-American Conference championship. The Broncos defeated the host Northern Illinois 4-3 Saturday in DeKalb. Western earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with the win, they will find out their opponent on Tuesday.

KALAMAZOO, MI - The Dann O'Neill brand was booming around 10 p.m. Saturday night. As the 6-foot-8, 305-pound former Western Michigan University offensive tackle talked about signing as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans he continued to get calls from other NFL teams and his social media profiles were surging with messages and friend requests.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- A sewer blockage caused more than 1,800 gallons of raw sewage to spill in Kalamazoo's Oakland/Winchell Neighborhood Saturday. Kalamazoo Department of Public Services was notified of the overflow from a manhole at 2041 Saxonia Lane at about 11:40 a.m. Saturday. By 5:30 p.m., workers had removed the blockage.

Speed limit changes on M-40 in Holland

There will be some speed limit changes along M-40 in the city of Holland - going up in some areas and down in others. Because the road, which has portions of 48th Street and Lincoln Avenue in the city of Holland, is a state trunk line, the Michigan Department of Transportation, working with the Michigan State Police, developed the speed limits based on a traffic study of the area.
