Spreading health news "door to door" in Albion

ALBION - The Albion Health Care Alliance is trying to make sure citizens there are getting the health information they need, and they'll do it house-by-house if they must. The group's Neighborhood Health Visitors is a collection of volunteers who walk through the city, knocking on doors and handing out information.

Grand Rapids mayor says it's too early to estimate cost of damage from flooding

Public hearing Tuesday on water and sewer rates in Portage

PORTAGE, MI - Portage water and sewer customers will have a chance to comment on the proposed 2013-14 rates at a Tuesday public hearing. The 7:30 p.m. hearing during the Portage City Council meeting calls for the Portage customer paying a 2.73 percent higher bill, or $19.40 more a year.

Grand River expected to crest Monday

The Grand River reached 21.67 feet at 5 a.m. this morning, according to the National Weather Service. Flood stage is 18 feet, and the river is projected to rise to 22.7 feet by Monday morning, , according to the latest predictions.

Finding locally produced pickles in Holland not easy
