City of Kalamazoo Denies Township Claims of Inflated Water and Sewer Rates

KALAMAZOO, MI --The city of Kalamazoo has denied claims in a lawsuit filed by 11 Kalamazoo County entities, including seven townships, alleging it intentionally inflated water and sewer rates. In the city's answer to the lawsuit, its attorneys deny each of the 16 counts, including allegations that the city "has manipulated and overstated" rates by charging more than what is "permitted by contract, agreement, settlement agreement, consent judgment and law."

Hundreds Weigh in on Battle Creek City Manager Search

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Kalamazoo Promise is announcing an "important change" on Tuesday morning, Promise officials said today. The announcement will be made at Kalamazoo College, and the presidents of Kalamazoo and Adrian colleges will be in attendance, as well as the president of Michigan Colleges Alliance, which represents 14 private colleges throughout Michigan, said a press release from The Promise office.
