Shane Clipfell seemed to want the moment the Western Michigan University women's basketball team experienced in Cleveland on Wednesday to linger for a while. Clipfell led the Broncos into the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament in Cleveland in his first year as head coach, which was a goal reached but not a mission accomplished as ninth-seeded Western Michigan fell to fifth-seeded Bowling Green, 55-53.

Calhoun County survey shows need for engagement on early childhood education

A recent survey told the Calhoun Great Start Collaborative it needs to engage more businesses and local governments in the cause of early education. In 2012, half of local parents, partners and members of the local collaborative surveyed said local businesses and governments were "more than somewhat" committed to our youngest residents, according to the survey released late last month.
