WMU Releases Final Plans for New East Hall

KALAMAZOO, MI - When the renovation of East Hall begins in May, construction materials will include a lot less glass and a lot more brick. That's according to the final plans for the $21 million redesign of WMU's birthplace, which were released Tuesday afternoon by Western Michigan University and TowerPinkster, the Kalamazoo-based architecture firm leading the project.

East Hall input session rescheduled for January 14th

KALAMAZOO, MI - Western Michigan University has rescheduled its second community input session on the redesign of East Hall for Jan. 14. It had been postponed due to the university's Jan. 6-7 closure for the weather. The session will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

WMU will preserve core of East Hall, both wings will be demolished

KALAMAZOO, MI - Both wings of East Hall will be knocked down before the renovation of the historic building goes forward this spring, Western Michigan University announced Thursday. The core of the university's birthplace, which was built in 1905 atop Prospect Hill, will undergo a renovation and become an Alumni Center.
