KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Western Michigan Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today it has reached an agreement in principle with head men's basketball coach Steve Hawkins on a new six-year contract, keeping him at WMU through the 2019-20 season.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Western Michigan men's basketball team will face Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Buffalo. The Broncos are making their fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament and earned a spot in the big dance by defeating Toledo, 98-77, in Saturday's Mid-American Conference Tournament to receive an automatic bid.
