WMU men's basketball falls at Buffalo

The University at Buffalo built a double-digit lead in the first half against visiting Western Michigan University on Wednesday and weathered a WMU rally in the second half to beat the Broncos 84-63 in the Mid-American Conference cross-divisional matchup in Buffalo, N.Y.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Western Michigan mens' basketball team got a big effort out of its biggest player and held on to defeat Ball State, 62-53, on Sunday for its second consecutive win.

The Western Michigan men's basketball team did something on Thursday in Kent, Ohio it hadn't done in nearly 18 years. The Broncos' 75-59 win at Kent State University was the program's first since Feb. 17, 1996. It was also just the fourth time a Mid-American Conference West Division opponent has won at KSU in 40 attempts.

Men's basketball: Eastern Michigan 56 Western Michigan 37

Broncos are now 9-6 overall, 2-1 in Mid-American Conference
Western Michigan started and ending the game with long scoring droughts, and Eastern overcame an extended drought of its own to hold on for a 56-37 win Tuesday night at the Convocation Center. Eastern improves to 10-6, while Western falls to 9-6 overall. Both teams are 2-1 in the MAC.
