New Designs for WMU Dining Hall Leave Woods in Place

KALAMAZOO, MI - The Western Michigan University community will choose from among five concepts unveiled Tuesday evening for its new Valley Dining Facility -- but all five will preserve the Goldsworth Valley Woods. The proposed 67,000-square-foot dining facility will feature nine "micro-restaurants," serving everything from comfort food, deli and salad options, Italian, Latin and Asian cuisine and, of course, dessert.

WMU's Hoekje Hall demolished, Bigelow to come down next

KALAMAZOO, MI - Two dorms that were home to tens of thousands of Western Michigan University students for more than 50 years are coming down this month. The demolition of Hoekje and Bigelow Halls are part of WMU's announced effort to replace its aging housing and dining hall stock.
