WMU Music Professor, Composer, C. Curtis-Smith Dies

Washington native Curtis-Smith joined the faculty in 1968 as an assistant professor after earning both bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Northwestern University. He also studied at the University of Illinois and taught briefly at Northern State College.

WMU's School of Music Gets New Director

Western Michigan's School of Music has a new director. Bradley Wong replaced former director David Colson earlier this month.

Wong, who is a professor of music, joined Western's faculty 30 years ago as a professor of clarinet. Colson returns to the faculty after heading the School of Music for the last seven years.

Wong is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earlier attended the Interlochen First Arts Academy. He's also been a member of the Western Wind Quintet.
