KALAMAZOO, MI -- A four-point play pulled Siena Heights within three points midway through the first half, but that's where the drama ended Thursday at University Arena. The Saints' Jamison Webster made a 3-pointer and the free throw after being fouled with 10:46 remaining in the first half, but Western Michigan closed the first half on a 34-10 run to cruise to an 83-47 win in its final non-conference tune-up.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- A 15-0 run midway through the second half helped Oakland women's basketball team defeat Western Michigan Sunday at University Arena, 72-62. The Broncos have a week off before their next outing, traveling to Valparaiso, Dec. 29, for the final non-conference game of the season.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Red hot UIC (7-2) rattled off its seventh win in a row, defeating Western Michigan, 71-61, Wednesday at University Arena. It was the Broncos' first game after a two-week break and sophomore Miracle Woods returned to the floor after missing the last five games with injury.

Western Michigan University men's basketball coach Steve Hawkins said Wednesday night he wished the Broncos had a game to play Thursday. WMU dropped its third consecutive game with a 71-68 loss at Drake in Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday and Hawkins sounded less than pleased during his postgame radio interview.

KALAMAZOO, MI - Western Michigan University athletic director Kathy Beauregard said she still remembers being captivated by P.J. Fleck during her first interview with the 32-year-old man who eventually was named the Broncos' football coach. Fleck, now 33 , had no coordinator experience and wasn't far removed from his playing days when he took the reins at WMU.
