What Western Michigan women's coach Shane Clipfell would like to see, though, is a little bit of the old, defensive basketball. The Broncos showed they could score points at will on Thursday night when they rolled over the University of Detroit, 103-86.

Shayne Whittington scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in his season debut for Western Michigan University, which defeated Tennessee State, 63-52, Monday in the Broncos' final game of the Outriggers Hotels and Resorts Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.

KALAMAZOO, MI - For the second night in a row, the Western Michigan University hockey team could not protect a two-goal lead. The Broncos held a two-goal lead in the second period of Sunday's non-conference series finale against Northern Michigan, but the Wildcats rallied to play to a 2-2 tie in front of an announced attendance of 2,246 at Lawson Arena.

Ali Russo said it wasn't until her teammates starting running towards her and the crowd starting cheering that she knew what happened. Russo, a Kalamazoo Central High School graduate, scored Western Michigan University's winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Ball State in the women's soccer Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game Sunday at Eastern Michigan's Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti.
