Shane Clipfell seemed to want the moment the Western Michigan University women's basketball team experienced in Cleveland on Wednesday to linger for a while. Clipfell led the Broncos into the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament in Cleveland in his first year as head coach, which was a goal reached but not a mission accomplished as ninth-seeded Western Michigan fell to fifth-seeded Bowling Green, 55-53.

KALAMAZOO - Teams which are on their way to possibly winning 20 games for the third straight season find a way to win. Teams which are rebuilding, not so much. That's the way it went on Wednesday night when Central Michigan ran off seven straight points to start the second half of a close game and downed Western Michigan, 77-53, at University Arena.

KALAMAZOO - It's called accountability and coach Shane Clipfell has been preaching that to his Western Michigan University women's basketball team since the day he walked in the door. It's taken awhile for the Broncos to buy into it, but after winning a game like they did on Sunday, maybe they are starting to believe.
