WMU Theatre

The musical Caroline or Change by Tony Kushner is being staged in only one theatre in the country this year, the University Theatre at WMU. Caroline or Change is Kushner’s semi-autobiographical look back at his childhood.

Update January 29th 9:30a.m.  The President of Western Michigan University's Chapter of the American Association of University Professors says there are no current negotiations with the university. Matthew Mingus tells WMUK that the union is considering whether to pursue a nine-year extension for one part of the contract to maintain the current structure for the union. Mingus says there will be a chapter meeting on February 8th for the union to decide what action it wants to take in reaction to Right to Work Legislation.

In 1993 Groov’tet, a self-propelled student jazz quartet, was formed at Western Michigan University. It launched the careers of four distinguished alumni: pianist Xavier Davis, saxophonist John Wojciechowski, bassist Matt Hughes, and drummer Keith Hall.

Flutist Chris Norman and violinist David Greenberg are fluent in at least two musical languages: the works of 18th century Baroque composers like Bach and Telemann, and the 18th century Scottish folk tradition as practiced in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Water is being turned off Friday to repair a water main leak.
