Some Michigan Republican leaders are signaling they may be reluctant to change how Michigan awards its Electoral votes in each Presidential election.

Update January 29th 9:30a.m.  The President of Western Michigan University's Chapter of the American Association of University Professors says there are no current negotiations with the university. Matthew Mingus tells WMUK that the union is considering whether to pursue a nine-year extension for one part of the contract to maintain the current structure for the union. Mingus says there will be a chapter meeting on February 8th for the union to decide what action it wants to take in reaction to Right to Work Legislation.

A Stanford University Drama Professor will speak Thursday night at Western Michigan University. Harry Elam Jr. is also a Vice-Provost at the school in Palo Alto, California. He will speak at the Richmond Center Thursday night at 6:00. His address is part of the university’s events to honor Martin Luther King and also part of the Center for Humanities Power and Publics speaker series.
