Washington Michigans odd couple congressmen have a New Years resolution to press on with their fight against the federal governments spying programs. U.S. Rep. Justin Amash, a GOP sophomore lawmaker from western Michigan, and U.S. Rep.John Conyers, the longtime liberal leader from Detroit, narrowly lost a 217-205 vote this summer in their bipartisan crusade to rein in the National Security Agency’s phone surveillance program.
