Battle Creek considers hiring contractor to clear trees

Officials say the city's own efforts to clear trees haven't been able to keep up with devastation of Emerald Ash Borer

Continuing a losing fight against the emerald ash borer, the city of Battle Creek plans to remove hundreds of ash trees ravaged by the invasive insect. Approximately 250 trees along streets throughout the city will be removed at a cost of $65,800.
