Census data shows more than half of Kalamazoo region's uninsured adults are employed

KALAMAZOO, MI -- There are 45,692 people in Kalamazoo, Allegan and Van Buren counties who currently lack health insurance, about 10 percent of the population, according to Census Bureau estimates released this week. Almost all are between the ages of 18 and 64, and a majority -- 57 percent -- are employed, the Census data shows.
