Detroit's three car companies report big increase in January sales

Ford Motor Co. said Friday its U.S. sales in January shot up 22 percent, as the Ford Fusion and Ford Escape both hit record January sales figures. The Dearborn automaker's sales of 166,051 vehicles in January capped its best January since 2006.
