Group against wolf hunting to launch 2nd petition
The group Keep Michigan Wolves Protected has planned another petition drive. During the first drive in March, the group was trying to overturn a law that allowed wolf hunting and trapping in the state. In May, Governor Rick Snyder signed a bill to let the Michigan Natural Resources Commission add wolves to the list of game animals. This petition drive will help put issues on the ballot against both those laws.
LANSING - A group that opposes a gray wolf hunt says it will launch a second ballot petition drive to stop the proposed hunt after its first effort was thwarted by the Legislature. Keep Michigan Wolves Protected submitted more than 255,000 signatures in March in an effort to overturn a December 2012 state law that allows the hunting and trapping of wolves.
