Group opposed to hunting gray wolves plans petition drive to overturn new law

Just days after Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation making a gray wolf hunting season a possibility, one group announced it will challenge the law through a referendum campaign. A petition committee, Keep Michigan Wolves Protected, is attempting to gather 225,000 signatures in the next two and a half months for a statewide ballot question that would protect wolves from being hunted as a trophy animal.
