Kalamazoo backyard bird count includes some rare sightings
The count recorded increases in tree sparrows, dark-eyed juncos and other species of birds.
KALAMAZOO, MI - In amongst the murder of crows, the gaggle of geese and the murmuration of starlings that bird watchers spotted at the Kalamazoo Audubon Society's Christmas Bird Count, a few treasures were spotted. Two bald eagles. A peregrine falcon. Even a grebe, never recorded on this count before, said Audubon member Russ Schipper.
