KALAMAZOO, MI -- A 1.5-mill tax that supplements the operating budgets of Kalamazoo County school districts was renewed Tuesday by more than two-thirds of voters. Tuesday's unofficial vote tally was 12,590 to 5,782, which did not include a handful of voters in Barry County. About 68.5 percent of voters backed the renewal.
