Michigan Budget Director says shutdown costing $18-million a day

LANSING -- The shutdown of the federal government will cost the state of Michigan $18 million a day, the state's budget director said Tuesday afternoon. Director John Nixon held a news conference to discuss the impact of the federal shutdown on the state Tuesday following a conference call between budget officials from all 50 states and the White House Office of Management and Budget.
