Michigan farmers may face migrant worker shortage
Michigan farmers are worried, that there could be a migrant worker shortage this year. Weather conditions last year, made less work available for the migrant workers. Many of the workers looked for employment in other states, and those that did come are unlikely to return because of the poor crop turn out the previous year.
LANSING, MI - Farmers still reeling from devastating weather last season face yet another challenge this year: a potential migrant worker shortage. A heat wave last March followed by frosts in April wiped out much of the apple, cherry and other fruit crops.
