Michigan Supreme Court rejects appeal of ruling that allows domestic partner benefits for state employees

LANSING - The Michigan Supreme Court denied a request by Attorney General Bill Schuette to overturn a Court of Appeals ruling allowing state employees to receive benefits for domestic partners. The Civil Service Commission, which has authority over policy regarding state employees, approved benefits for unrelated people living with state employees.
