More than 60 percent of Michigan college grads in debt
Last year’s college graduates had an average of more than $28,000 worth of student debt. That’s about $1,000 more than in 2011.
Michigan's 2012 college graduates each borrowed $1,000 more on average than their peers who graduated a year earlier, a report released today shows. That pushed Michigan into the 10th spot among states in average debt per graduate, according to the report from the Project on Student Debt, an initiative of The Institute for College Access & Success.
