OTSEGO, MI - Scientists were trudging across the muddy ground around Pine Creek Wednesday, sampling soils from what by next week will be lake bottom again. "They'll be looking for mostly PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls)," all part of ongoing cleanup of the Kalamazoo River, said Garry Griffith of Georgia-Pacific, whose company is paying for the work.
