Springfield still weighing public safety decision

The Springfield City Council may take a few more weeks before deciding who will provide police services in the city. Last week the council agreed not to raise taxes to support the existing department and instead will close public safety and hire either Battle Creek or the Calhoun County Sheriff to provide police services.
