State Senate Majority Leader Calls for Tighter Regulations on Charter Schools

State lawmakers can expect to see legislation introduced in the next month or two tightening up the statute regulating charter schools in Michigan. Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, R-Monroe, said Thursday during a taping of the "Off the Record" show on public television that he has asked his staff to begin drafting legislation in the wake of a Free Press special report on the performance and oversight of state charter schools.
